If you fish long enough or often enough, you’re bound to encounter slow fishing. What do you do when the bite slows down? We spoke to Captain Art Sapp with Native Son Charters, top team in the 2019 Sailfish Challenge to get his take. Captain Art mentioned that he has noticed a trend during slow fishing where boats start running all over the ocean to find a fish. “Patience pays. Find a condition that looks good and stick it out,” Sapp said. Makes sense to us. More time with baits in the water in an area that looks good equals more time and opportunity to get the bites you need to come out on top.
