Inspired by Fish Bluewater’s legendary Quest for the Crest Sailfish Series and the legacy of the Burgundy Jackets, Marlin Majors ushers in a new tradition in big-game fishing, where all-release competition meets world-class tournaments reserved for legends of the game.
This new three-leg series will unfold across some of the most iconic destinations in the Bahamas, kicking off its inaugural season in March 2026 at Abaco Beach Resort & Marina with the debut of El Jefe Invitational. Future legs of the series will expand across the Abacos, culminating in 2027 with the unveiling of the first-ever Marlin Majors Series Champions Blue Jackets, a nod to excellence, custom fit for champions.

INTRODUCING EL JEFE INVITATIONAL
Inspired by the stories of Spanish treasures lost at sea in the Bahamas, El Jefe Invitational pays tribute to the same storied waters once explored by fortune seekers and adventurers. Only this time, the fleet is chasing a different kind of treasure: The elusive blue marlin, and the tournament’s signature custom jewelry pieces handcrafted by Amici Gold, celebrating the spirit of discovery that lives on in these islands.
Set for March 18 – 21, 2026, at Abaco Beach Resort & Marina, El Jefe Invitational serves as Leg One of the Quest for the Crest Marlin Majors. The event will feature a $1,000,000+ purse (based on 50 boats), where teams will enjoy great camaraderie while competing alongside the most elite teams in the sport.
As part of the elevated experience that defines El Jefe Invitational, all teams will be required to dock at Boat Harbour Marina in the exquisite Abaco Beach Resort, the official host property of this elite, invitation-only event.
MARLIN MAJORS TOURNAMENT INVITATIONS
Built for the most dedicated and competitive teams in the sport, the first leg of Marlin Majors tournament series will feature a limited, invitation-only field of 50 boats, with entry extended through three distinct phases designed to preserve the prestige of the upcoming Series Champions Blue Jackets:
Priority Access (Nov. 1 – Dec. 1, 2025)
Reserved for existing Fish Bluewater clients as a courtesy to those who have continuously proven their commitment to the sport and the Quest for the Crest legacy. Their commitment to going “all-in”, including participation in all eligible calcuttas, secures them early access to the tournament roster.
Requested Access (Dec. 2, 2025 – Jan. 1, 2026)
Open to teams that have formally requested entry. As with Phase One, entry is reserved for those committed to going “all-in” on all eligible calcuttas.
Open Availability (Jan. 2 – Mar. 4, 2026)
Remaining entries will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the roster fills, additional teams will be added to a waiting list for future invitations.
