Captain Bouncer Smith Sailfish Report

February 3, 2011

It has been a very good week for fishing, and it should stay that way for a while. Catches of as many as 15 to 18 sailfish have been reported daily. These have been in 180 to 220 feet of water off Key Biscayne or 120 to 150 feet of water off the ragged keys further south. A good run of mahi slipped through for twodays, but they quickly left the scene. Inshore shrimp runs at night have set off great tarpon fishing. Our last trip produced tarpon of 40, 120 and 140 pounds caught along Miami Beach. Big mangrove snappers have also been very active around the inlets. Tight lines!
