Whats Biting: Sails, Snapper & Wahoo

December 17, 2018

Multiple cold fronts this week have sparked a good sailfish bite.  Caribsea Charters released 14 fish in a junior angler tournament out of Islamorada over the weekend.  Team Sandman had a strong day fishing off of Boynton Beach last week with 12 releases.  They ventured south on Sunday and went 8 for 11 fishing off Triumph Reef in Miami.

SnappersWhen the current has been light, the vermillion fishing has been very good.  Bobby Boyle snuck out Hillsboro Inlet for a quick afternoon trip and caught some nice ones.  Captain Skip Dana and the Fish City Pride drift boat out of Hillsboro Inlet have been hammering the Vermillions as well as some nice mangroves and yellowtail snapper.

Team Sailsmen/Advanced Roofing, saddled up and made the run to San Salvador earlier this month in search of some monster wahoo.  Despite some rough conditions, they have been catching some nice fish.  Check out their Instagram page for quick clips from some of their trips (@sailsmenfishingteam).
