Record Setting Sailfish Bite!

March 14, 2011

The Sailfish bite in Miami was nothing short of exraordinary.  15 boats in the K-Rock Classic combined to release 460 fish in 2 days of fishing.  That’s an average of over 30 fish per boat!  When is the last time you heard about a boat relasing 48 Sailfish in a tournament and not winning?  Better yet, when is the last time you heard about a boat catching 48 Sailfish in a tournament period.  That’s exactly what Team Jichi did in the tournament over the weekend.  Despite the extraordinary display, it was not enough to secure 1st place in the tournament.  Jichi finished 3rd.

Both Wound Up and Get Lit had 50 releases in the tournament.  You are probably wondering who beat who on time?  Not the case.  Get Lit also released a Blue Marlin to push their total to 51 releases for the tournament.  Are you kidding me?  Captain John Dudas stated that his team was 50 for 75 over the two days of fishing.  Simply amazing.  That is all I can say.  The K-Rock Classic has been running for several years in memory of Captain Kevin Lorente.  I’d be willing to bet he was looking down over the field this weekend with a BIG smile on his face.

Get out there!  The bite is on.
