Boat Builder's Throwdown

The battle of the boat builders has begun! Teams representing their manufacturers compete for the perpetual trophy and the rights to say that their boat make is the best. To be in the running, each manufacturer must have at least 4 boats representing them. The winner is based on the top 3 scores from each participating boat. How do we get these scores? The Throwdown follows the same point system as the Quest for the Crest.  1^st Place boat earns 30 points, 2^nd place 29, etc.  The boat builder with the highest points has the privilege of displaying the perpetual trophy, presented by John Townsend, at their production facility until the following year of competition!

The 2012 Operation Sailfish was a tough battle between SeaVee and Viking. In the end, SeaVee finished on top.  Advanced Roofing & Liquid Skillstorm racked up the points with their 1^st and 2^nd place finishes. Kimbuktu’s 8 extra points proved to be vital in knocking Viking out of the top spot in the Builder's Throwdown. The Viking teams went down swinging though.  Their 3 top teams, Miss Annie, Blue Time & Qualifier, finished in 6th, 12th and 13th place with a total of 62 points and 42 realease - 5 points shy of SeaVee's 67 point total with 52 total releases.
